TYT TH6800
Pretty impressed with the radio, so far. I had a learning curve on programming it manually , but once I learned the proper order, it was very easy, going into the menu options, CT, V/M, and function buttons on the radio, or mic.
Finally put a watt meter on the radio.
2 meter power output
high = 18.2 watts
Medium= 8.9 watts
Low= 5.2 watts
70cm power output
High= 9.5watts
Medium=5.2 watts
Low=2.9 watts
It appears to be built very well out of aluminum frame and covers. Has a fan when on high power kicks on, to keep things cool. Water proof and dust proof and I have not had any bad reports using the mic on air into repeaters.
Very small too. The size of 2 UV5r radios. And low current draw.
What's not to like?
At $109.00 for a dust proof/waterproof, built like a tank radio, it's hard to beat.
100% happy with it. Just might have to buy another one, just in case.
