I followed the instructions exactly, including uninstalling a "trial" version of Office using the office tool that was recommended (and linked) by the instructions, and downloading Office using the link provided in the instructions. The software installed and validated by internet with no problems, and is working great. Purchasers should note that this is really a one-time situation. I had purchased a copy of Office (same version) once before from a similar vendor on eBay, for a similar price, but due to a hard drive failure I had to reinstall Office on a new drive. The previous license did not work to re-install Office, which is why I made this purchase. Purchasers should also be aware that nothing physical is included, neither the "scrap," nor any paper license or certificate. I build and upgrade a lot of computers for elderly people who although very capable users of their computers find cloud based software a real pain either because their broadband speeds are too slow for running the software and cant afford to pay cloud licensing charges, This is the perfect alternative and until Microsoft come up with a scheme for the elderly to buy one time licences rather than annual charges this is the solution and many thanks to the companies that enable me to buy second hand licences.

I received an email form the seller with a licnse key number very quickly. However, the key was not accepted by the MS automatic registration system. I contacted the seller, who provided me a second key via email, and tha tone worked fine. Apparently, there are different builds of Office and some keys will work ands some won't. No problem, the seller responded to me withina few hours and remedied the situation. I have not yet received the scrap hardware that is supposed to make auctions like this legal, but who needs a useless piece of hardware that will be thrown away anyway. If you do not already have a DVD or downloaded file, you will need to get one since this is a license key sequence only. The seller provides a download link with the email containing the key, so you will not have to go searching for one. I had a DVD but it was old enough that the key didn't work and MS will no longer do activation by phone. Since I did not use the download link, my copy of the program (6 years old) might have beena different build and the reason the first key provided didn't work, This was an inexpensive way of getting the program installed and activated.Read full review

The instructions for installing the programs that came with it did not apply to Windows 10. A message to the seller solved the problem and installing was easy. I did have a problem with using the Skype that was part of Office as it did not retain the contact list I already had and was not friendly. I will delete it. I also had trouble when using Excel as it would not allow me to use the Open Office spreadsheet I had been using. Since I bought the program primarily for Outlook, I am happy but I am told Microsoft will stop supporting 2010 Outlook in October.

It was a real thing - seems to be legitimate, works fine, great deal, good support from a real person over email. Installed without a problem, I didn't have to use any pirate tricks - it registered and Microsoft accepted it. One license can be used only for one computer. Very good deal.
