I've had a Swiss Army knife of some sort in my pocket for decades. I've also used a US-made Kershaw lock-blade at work. The locking blade on this model isn't as rigid as what I'm used to and it can't easily be deployed with just one hand. The lock is plenty sufficient to prevent the blade from folding back during usage, which is the biggest concern. The other tools are up to the usual Victorinox standard. The bottle opener has long been my go-to - the can opener is nice to have when fancier ones fail. The screwdrivers get used a lot. (I've had the corkscrew instead of the Phillips driver in the past - good for backpacking around Europe. I used to use the tip of the can opener but a proper Phillips head will be best when trying to preserve the screw head.) The size might take some getting used to in your pocket but it does feel better in the hand for use.Read full review

I have used and collected Victorinox Swiss Army Knives for more than 35 years. I have models for every purpose. My favorite version for general all-around use and gift-giving is the Adventurer. With its locking main blade and commonly needed tools, it offers the most utility of any model in a package that's not too large for pocket carry.
