I've owned just about every one of these all in one systems and I can say that when they are set up properly, using the correct speakers and placed in the correct positions, they all can produce some quality sound and have amazing volume from a very scaled down system. What you will not have to deal with is a bunch of cords and connectors which could cost you as much as this entire system, you also will not have to rethink your entire living room just to find a place to set it up. What you will get is a quality sound and picture with plenty of volume coming from speakers that are about 1/10 of the size you would expect to have if you did not see them you would not be able to guess they were so small. To those who have said that the sound was not good for music have not taken the time to read the manual, you will need to change your setting to STEREO when you are not playing a Dolby encoded recording. This will cut off your center channel, and surround speakers, (both side and back) so you will be hearing a typical 2.1 system with stereo L&R+Sub, it will remove the echo that is part of the normal dolby decoding or enhanced surround sound that you may have been listening to while watching movies. There are different settings for each type of decoding as well so read your manuals before trashing stuff. You will find that your system may be able to do much more than you expected and will provide you with all of the information on your system, both how to get the most out of it and what not to do so you do not destroy it by accident. Everything has it's limitations and using the proper speakers is a huge factor in how well these systems work and sound, mismatched speakers (incorrect Ohms) can and will ruin the amplifiers quicklyRead full review

The sound and visual quality of this home theater system is wonderful. I had a very similar machine that had some sound difficulties with it. The replacement unit was rebuilt and renewed by the seller who did a remarkable job in restoring the unit to near new factory quality.

This unit is not made out of chipboard, as eBay put this negative review on this listing by mistake. It is all metal and plastic. It works excellent. Great surround sound .

for what you will pay you will not loose out, now here's the but that you knew was coming, this unit only has a HDMI out, so if you are looking for a unit that you can run your PS3 or Xbox or what ever you have , forget it. only component audio in that's it . so make sure with anything you buy that it is what you want, don't buy on an impulse, use the internet to look up the unit you want and look at the back of it to see what connections it comes with. that's all I'm saying thanks! hope this helps!
