La preparaci n f sica es aquel conjunto de ejercicios mediante los cuales una persona, sea deportista o no, pretende mejorar su condici n f sica para poder efectuar mejor sus requerimientos cotidianos. Aunque admitimos que es una pauta imprescindible para los deportistas -pues sin ella no se conseguir an buenas marcas-, lo cierto es que incluso para nuestra vida cotidiana constituye el puntal imprescindible para lograr un buen estado de salud. Sin un adecuado acondicionamiento del cuerpo, realizado siempre bajo la adecuada direcci n o mediante los conocimientos correctos, nuestro cuerpo nunca podr rendir todo su potencial, lo que nos llevar a con toda probabilidad a un estado an mico defectuoso. El problema habitual es que cuando una persona decide po¬nerse a realizar un ejercicio f sico o a practicar un deporte lo hace con m s voluntad que conocimientos, no solamen¬te en lo relativo al propio deporte que comienza, sino tam¬bi n en cuanto a lo qu es correcto y no lo es desde el pun¬to de vista de su salud. El primer concepto equivocado es confundir precisamente deporte con ejercicio f sico, ya que mientras que el primero indica una actividad f sica en la cual ganar, o al menos participar, es la finalidad principal, en el segundo solamente estamos tratando de mover y mejorar adecuadamente nuestro cuerpo. Por ello, en el caso de aquellas personas que, preocu¬padas por su salud o su est tica, desean mejorar su condici n f sica mediante el ejercicio, les recomendar a que no practicaran un deporte colectivo, y que en sustituci n de l se dedicaran solamente a mejorar su condici n f sica mediante los ejercicios que eli¬ja, olvid ndose de competir incluso consigo mismos, ya que la base de la preparaci n f sica es la mejora de la salud y nunca ganar algo o a alguien. En este primer volumen, el lector encontrar todos los conocimientos necesarios para poder emprender la larga tarea del acondicionamiento f sico, tanto si desea una simple preparaci n f sica, como si prefiere dedicarse a la pr ctica de alg n deporte. Sin estos conocimientos es casi impensable conseguir buenos resultados, mucho menos en el deporte, pues para saber c mo mover los m sculos o lograr la m xima potencia y velocidad, se necesitan unos amplios conocimientos. Del mismo modo, un mal acondicionamiento f sico nos llevar a a lesiones m s o menos graves, e incluso a deformidades articulares, que conducir an al necesario abandono del entrenamiento. Una vez que estos conceptos generales han sido comprendidos, es el momento de pasar a estudiar materias algo m s complejas, aunque igualmente sencillas de entender, que el lector podr encontrar en el segundo volumen de esta colecci n. Al final de cada cap tulo el lector encontrar unos ejercicios de autoevaluaci n, as como las respuestas correctas.
