The software included, Audacity, is a bit intimidating and its operation didn't quite match the instructions in my case. I was digitizing tapes of speech and so the audio quality doesn't have to be great. It isn't. The resulting wave files are listenable, but have various problems: the most evident of these is the low-level drone. For speech, this is not really a problem, but I'd be annoyed of it was music. Like I hinted, the software is a bit intimidating to use, so I don't - as yet - really know how to create better quality digitized tapes. I hope there's a more fulsome instruction manual or at least some FAQs somewhere, but I haven't looked yet. The tape player works fine. Bit difficult to find the battery slot, but really, that's pretty slim criticism.

I purchased this product hoping to transfer many old cassette tapes to my computer, The software that comes with it acts erratic one time it tell you to connect to PC using the USB for recording but the drop down choice one in ten times will give you that option but other times it will not so you cannot send the audio to your PC another time it will transfer but there is no sound I communicated with the supplier they sent me another unit still the same problem, they told me to send them back via USPS and they will refund my money plus the return postage. I paid $11.51 the cheapest way ground postage to them several weeks ago with no response. At this time I am out of $14.99+11.51=$26.50 for my mistake

First let me say, it does work. Secondly, with some doing. It's not quite as simple as insert tape, plug into computer and voila instant success. You have to download Audacity and you may have to download drivers, depending on your OS. Once you've done that it's also not quite as simple as it seems and don't expect perfect quality unless you've got perfect quality cassette tapes. It will only give as good a quality result as the product you're working with. HOWEVER, if you have beloved cassette tapes that you don't want to lose and are irreplaceable then this DOES make it work! We ended up using a computer that had Windows 10, burning it to a CD then recopying it to the hard drive. Like I said in the beginning, it took some doing but I was able to save precious cassette tapes I would not want to lose. That was what mattered most. Might want to have a bottle of asprin on hand for the headache though :)Read full review

Great Unit. I purchased it to copy years and years worth of cassette tapes to CD/DVD. Right out of the box it was easy to hook up and set up. The software that came with it is a little bit hard to get started with because it does SOOOOO much more than I need. One nice feature of the software is that it has a function to clean up the noisy recordings. Some might complain about the quality and the software.... but I think I got much more than I paid for. If you are looking for something to start a business - invest in some professional equipment otherwise this is a great deal.

This is certainly a value as compared to same item sold elsewhere. It was not easy to use by following the directions as I did not have the same screens on my computer. After trying many options I was able to save the song. Then getting to the mp3 player was another challenge. I did it but truly am not sure I can do it again. Good seller, no issues there. Will have to practice with it when I have quiet time.
