I've bought many of these adapters from Orihalcon on Ebay, and have to say that nothing else compares to the slickness and ease of use, if you can plug it in, you can use it. They are all programmed with the default set of Soarer's firmware so the vast majority of IBM Buckling springs keyboards will function with them out of the box, and quite a few other XT and AT keyboards from the 80's and 90's. They are well built, and very professional, I wouldn't go with anything else after using one, and have ordered one for each of my collection. Never a failure, never a trouble with them.

Works well enough software wise, but build quality appears to be inconsistent (judging by the positive reviews). The one I received bugs out regularly and is based entirely on the physical position of the item. This can be extremely frustrating as some of the random pushes are modifier keys, which can cause all kinds of havoc. While I cannot be 100% sure it is because of this item, the two USB ports on the computer I have been using it with have become unreliable and cannot transfer large amounts of data (through thumb drive, for example) without fatal errors. A third USB port right next to them that I have not used for this item is working perfectly. I am typing while using it right now and can duplicate the problem simply by jiggling the cord, it will even continue tizZxxxx|. |eeq|zxx|DZX|DZXZe|Z|DZXqxxx (this does not include the bookmarks and spellchecks it just pulled up on its own)Read full review

I'm a writer and I write on an NMB RT8251 keyboard, sometimes an 8255. These are old AT CLICKY keyboards from the 80s. I was using an AT-to-PS2 adapter which meant I was limited to motherboards with a PS2 port. Now I can plug my keyboard into the adapter and plug it straight in to any computer. The manufacturing was professional and best of all, the adapter works! I have no idea how long it will last, but I'm glad to have this! In fact, I liked it so much I bought 3.

I do like this product, but there are two ways you can go with having this product. I think you can have your 5 pin din connect to a ps2 to USB. This involves 2 adapters but is more cost efficient. So it is honestly however you want to make of it, it looks cleaner this method which is why I got this product. Overall the product has a thick cord, I like it.

Good build quality. It worked the first time. There are no instructions about remapping - so the product title is a little off there, I may have to fool with some software to map the keys right, but I can cope with that. It's the electrical connections that are the hard part.
