I have to say that I like almost everything about this printer. It is light weight, versatile, has a relatively small footprint, and dual extruders that are designed correctly. The only problem that I am having is properly leveling the bed, but this just requires a little patience. Being able to control everything about the printer is nice as well. You can set each extruder to a different temperature so that you can easily mix PLA and ABS, you have complete control of the bed temp as well. The system is also smart enough to not heat an extruder that is not in use. The only changes that I would make to it myself would be to add Plexy sides and a hatch to teh front to keep little fingers and pets away from the parts - which you can do yourself for just a few dollars; the only other improvement would be wireless connectivity - which today, everyone wants for everything. The construction is minimalist and solid, made of light weight materials wherever possible. It also comes with an assortment of spare screws, washers, a set of Allen Wrenches, and a spare nozzle. The only thing that you need to assemble is the printer assembly - 2 screws. The user manual covers everything that you need to know to set up and maintain your printer in peak performance, I think it could use a couple more screen shots for the software instructions, but if you notify them, they will very quickly send you everything that you might need. They also were able to provide me with an install package for Windows-10, as I was unable to install a couple of things from the SD Chip. Delivery to the middle of the United States was very fast and hassle free, I was provided with the tracking information and knew when it was there, and just one day past the projected date - which is nothing. They earned and deserve a 5Star rating with me and I highly recommend them. The previous 3D printer I tried, while very nice and efficient at first, turned into a major head-ache when dealing with the customer service and getting it returned - I actually had to remind them to refund my money after the return.Read full review

The CTC Duplicator 4 arrived with more than a dozen screw/nuts rattled loose/off. Identical STL files run on a competitive MakerBot with similar PLA and temperature & feed rates produced attractive, usable, robusts 3D parts, but this printer creates stringy, if not incomplete failed versions of the same components. To have a part fail 80% through the build cycle is a waste of time and materials. It wad a relatively inexpensive purchase to educate ourselves on the various configurations and set up variables. We will continue to attempt other set ups with optional materials: polycarbonate, HIPS, ABS, and other suppliers/colors of PLA before we dismiss this as a n inferior product. The components made so far have been only 2 of 5 star quality. The SD card that contained electronic files of written instructions were not an acceptable translation into English. It was often incomprehensible. We found YouTube videos and other information online to fill in the gaps of "How to" for set up and had the aptitude from using other 3D printers. I would not promote the purchase of this make/model of 3D printer to someone expecting a quality machine out of the box and easy set up.Read full review

Since I've purchased this printer it has been a long love hate relationship. When it prints, it prints good, I get exactly what I want, at the quality that I want, in the time frame that I want. The problem I have is in terms of tweaking functionality from time to time and reliability of parts. The nozzles shipped unlevel and are still unlevel, trying to figure out the best way of leveling them out. The thermo couple was loose for a few prints and canceled mid print. My thermocouple on the right extruder (the only extruder that works due to the leveling issue) seems to have died so I'll need to buy a new one which isn't expensive. But since the left extruder doesn't presently work, I just swapped it out, not bad. It has been a battle, but it works, I've learned a good bit about 3D printing in terms of maintenance at this point and can fix small issues in no time, which means its back to printing full time, and doing what I want/need. Its a great printer, if you're willing to learn a few things about the mechanisms that make this technology run in order to fix it, go ahead and get one. If the words thermocouple, motherboard, or extruder make you uncomfortable.... I'd look for something else.Read full review

Pros: Menu's on LCD is informative, makes jogging, and leveling pretty easy. Maintains extruder and bed temperatures well. Prints ok for the the price. Prints from SDcard (usb printing doesn't work well) Cons: The aluminum plate is not perfectly flat (bowl shaped) so hard to level the bed well enough to get consistent prints. Comes with red painters tape that doesn't hold up well and wants to tear easily. The sublayer is some sort of thick film layer. No printed material provided, have to figure out how to unpack and assemble. Manual is on SDcard however all of the files on mine were corrupt so no manual during unpacking. Comes with a filament spool holder that was printed. Have to print your own for second extruder. My files were corrupt so wasn't able to make a second holder. The size of the spool holder is too big, not all spools will fit on the holder. No filament feeding tubes are supplied or fitting. You will have to figure out how to add your own. Without the feeding tubes, the filament gets hung up while unspooling. Have wasted about ½ of a spool to failed prints due to the filament getting hung up.Read full review

This printer has lots of problems all the time. I have two of them for work and on printer number 1 I have multiple problems with one and printer number 2 makes so much noise when printing. These printers do not do have very good quality of prints. I have over 500 hours of printing on printer 1 and after changing 5 parts, it is still running. Printer number got even louder over time so we shut that down in the office since it was a distraction. I originally rated these machines as 2 star but I am going back and re-rating them to a 1.
