WOW, what a great tool. I have decapped many 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, 8 mm and other berdan brass. The whole trick is to keep the pointy side up on the decapping pin and to adjust the pin up and down so that the primer will come out. If the pin is adjusted to long it will damage the anvil and might break the pin. I have broken two pins before i figured it out. Star with the pin low and make it longer as needed. Put the pin in the primer dent and place the the hook on the rim of the cartridge and press the handle down firmly.

Just be sure to reset the case claw after Initial penetration and before Fully prying out the primer and you’ll get a great decamped Berdan. Also be sure to play around and find your perfect depth for the penetration pin, once you get that right you’re golden.
