Didn't have a clue they made PATA interface for these. This is not a known brand, but do not let this stop you from buying this drive. I installed this into an Acer Aspire 5000 (2005 model), maxed the memory (whopping 2Gb), loaded Linux 12.04.5 and haven't looked back. This makes my old laptop into a smoker (boots Linux to desktop in 18 secs). It is faster by far than my brothers new HP laptop W/platter drive and 8Gb of ram. He is mad, as he gave this 'dog' to me. Have been running this drive for nearly a year now and couldn't be happier. Would definitely buy again.
