This is one of the my favorite fantasy novels ever! Although some of the author's other books seem much more geared for children, this one doesn't have that over-simplified feel. It's incredibly fast-paced and keeps the reader engaged the whole way through. One hell of an adventure. Very creative, never a dull moment, never feels formulaic. I highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite 'fantasy' books - easy to follow, hard to put down; engaging characters and you are left wanting the book to continue on towards the main characters' next adventures. I stayed up way past my bed time on a couple of work nights reading this book.

Neil Gaiman is probably best known for writing graphic novels, especially the Sandman series, but don't let that make you think that he is anything less than a profoundly important author. In Neverwhere Gaiman takes the reader into the tunnels below the London Underground. The culture, the personalities and the tension of this very different life are illustrated in an extremely enjoyable read. I hightly recomend that you read this book as well as Gaiman's other novels (like American Gods and The Anazi Boys)you'll be amazed where he can take you.
Being a fan of Gaiman, I was eager to read another of his books. I found this one intriguing and very odd. It is much different than American Gods and Anansi Boys. I understand that it was a made for television series.... in which case it makes more sense. Gaiman paints vivid visuals in the book but I think I would enjoy watching iteven more. If your mind's eye can't keep up with this story, it might fall short for you. He will drag you along through his imagination and sometimes it gets really bizzare. Enjoy!
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I would recommend this book.
